  • Jimmy Joy uses only plant-based ingredients because to sustain our health and the planet. YFood does use animal sources instead.  
  • Jimmy Joy contains four times less sugar than YFood. We aim to make our products low in sugar to reduce peaks in blood glucose. 
  • Jimmy Joy has a little more carbohydrates, which are complex and keep the blood glucose in control. Yfood contains more fats, mostly coming from the animal-based ingredients, and a little less protein than we do.

Remarks on this ready-to-drink meal comparison

  • Jimmy Joy adds a little less fat compared to YFood. The fats we do add, are mostly from omega 3 and 6 sources. 
  • Jimmy Joy uses a bit more carbohydrates. The carbohydrate composition exists of mostly complex carbohydrates. 
  • Jimmy Joy and YFood use the same amounts of protein
  • Jimmy Joy and YFood add similar amounts of micronutrients. Jimmy Joy adds more B12 since the body absorbs this in lesser amounts (see the following blog about our vitamin B12 amounts.) Both Jimmy Joy and YFood add all the vitamins and minerals because this is the most accurate way to ensure one is actually consuming all the mentioned nutrients.
  • Jimmy Joy offers plant-based products. YFood has a small variety of plant-based alternatives but is mostly animal based.
