Active Ingredients Breakdown
Beta-Alanine
Beta-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid naturally produced in the liver and found in foods like red meat, tuna, and salmon. [1] It plays a crucial role in the production of carnosine, a compound that helps buffer acid buildup in muscles during intense exercise. This buffering effect delays muscle fatigue, allowing you to maintain peak performance for longer periods, especially beneficial for high-intensity training like weightlifting and sprinting. [2]
Dosages equal or over 2g may cause a tingling sensation (paresthesia). [2,3]
Caffeine
Caffeine is one of the most effective performance-enhancing compounds out there. It stimulates the central nervous system, improving cognition, reaction time, and endurance. Research suggests that at least 300 mg of caffeine enhances focus, power output, and fat oxidation, giving you the drive to go harder, longer. [1, 3]
For reference, a regular cup of coffee (125 ml) contains ~60 mg of caffeine, while an espresso shot (60 ml) has ~40 mg. We add 200 mg, leaving room for your coffee consumption throughout the day without the jittery feeling. Ideally, avoid its consumption in the evening to prevent insomnia.
L-Citrulline
L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid that acts as a precursor to L-Arginine. [4] This is a semi-essential amino acid that serves as a precursor to nitric oxide (NO), a vasodilator that increases blood flow to muscles. [3] Better circulation means more oxygen and nutrients delivered to working muscles, enhancing endurance and recovery. L-Arginine also plays a role in the production of growth hormone, which supports muscle protein synthesis and overall gains. [5]
Unlike direct arginine supplementation, citrulline is absorbed more efficiently and leads to higher nitric oxide levels, promoting better muscle pumps, reduced fatigue, and improved endurance. A 6000mg dose has been shown to significantly boost nitric oxide production, optimizing ATP utilization and calcium handling in muscles for peak performance. [4]
L-Tyrosine
L-Tyrosine is a precursor to key neurotransmitters like dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine, which play a role in motivation, focus, and stress response. While it doesn’t directly enhance strength or endurance, it helps maintain cognitive function under intense conditions, keeping you sharp and dialed in when the training gets tough. It’s especially useful during prolonged exercise or workouts on low sleep. [6]
